As summer is fast approaching, bring a touch of your summer holidays home with you with these fabulous craft ideas that you can create yourself and add a little something extra to your get-togethers, BBQs, dinner parties and your home decor.

Get creative and level up your summer with these easy craft projects that everyone can get involved in, there are ideas on how to decorate for your next party and host a picnic at home as well as projects to add some fun to your next photo booth and a little slice of summer to your living room.

I loved using Canon’s Creative Park to search for patterned papers and elements to print out and use for these projects, it’s so easy to find some stunning patterned papers that work great for all of these craft projects and make it so easy to whip up décor to match the season without forking out for new supplies!

I printed all of the projects on my Canon Pixma TS6350 printer, it makes it so easy to print quality prints for craft projects. I used the Canon Matte Photo Paper for all of these projects as it’s so versatile and is so easy to craft with!

Let’s get started with some fun summer projects that the whole family can get involved in! For more creative ideas check out Canon's Pinterest page!

It’s pocket size and easy to carry (weighing just 145g)

Vibrant Abstract Artwork

Bring a touch of summer into your living room by creating some collage artwork to brighten your space with summer colours. Use a mix of printed papers then cut them out by hand into abstract shapes and have fun assembling them to create your wall art. Use a mix of prints, colours and patterns, to create a summer feel!

For this project you will need:
  • Matte paper
  • Large sheet of white card
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Have fun creating this abstract artwork, start by printing out a selection of patterned papers. Choose a mix of patterns and colours. Use scissors to cut out organic shapes from the papers then arrange them onto a large piece of white card.

Once you have the arrangement finalised start glueing all of the pieces down. Once complete hang your beautiful artwork for all to see!
